The creation of window shapes or over-door arch shapes, other than the strictly rectangular, requires specialized machinery for bending or forming the desired shapes. Depending on the product mix and volume, bending machines may vary from inexpensive, strictly manual benders suitable for aluminum frames, through single-station semi-automatic frame benders, through fully automatic CNC bending machines that can handle aluminum or PVC frames.

PVC arch fabrication is a labor-intensive operation demanding highly skilled operators. It requires ovens to heat the incoming straight frame rail material until it is pliable, and carefully designed bending tables which clamp the softened PVC between nylon molds until it cools into exactly the desired shape.
